  • Food Bank For New York City’s mission is to end hunger by organizing food, information and support for community survival and dignity. Food Bank takes a strategic, multifaceted approach that provides meals and builds capacity in the neediest communities, while raising awareness and engagement among all New Yorkers. Through a combination of food distribution, nutrition education, financial empowerment services, and advocacy, Food Bank serves more than 1.5 million New Yorkers every year across the five boroughs.

It's not always about giving money or resources, it is also to be there in that moment and try to give them a great experience, take them to a hockey game or make them think about something else than being sick.
