On Tuesday December 12th, as part of Garden of Dreams Night at the NY Rangers game, HLFYA 2022 Alumni Ilan Shterenberg made a live presentation, alongside Henrik Lundqvist, of the Freedom Concepts Dream Bike he raised funds to build and donate to Garden of Dreams Young Person Emma Larson.

HLF Young Ambassadors gained eye-opening insights

HLF Young Ambassadors gained eye-opening insights into hunger through an interactive zoom session with HLF Community Partner @foodbank4nyc. They experienced the challenges faced by our community when accessing food programs. From budgeting to managing setbacks, they walked in others' shoes. In 2022 HLF committed to support @ronaldhuset_gbg

In 2022 HLF committed to support @ronaldhuset_gbg with a renovation of two kitchens, eight separate kitchen stations. The kitchens are in the older part of the house which serves 25 families. The two kitchens had not been renovated since the house was built in 1999. Around 600-900 families have stayed in the house each year hence the kitchens needed renovations. We are so happy to see how beautiful and family friendly the result turned out to be. Thank you to @ronaldmcdonaldbarnfond and the Gothenburg House for being an amazing Community Partner and to the incredible work you do.

This weekend @hlundqvistfoundation Young Ambassadors and Alumni teamed up with @foodbank4nyc and @hlundqvistofficial for a Mobile Pantry distribution. FBNYC Mobile Pantries follow a client choice–style pantry model, where clients can select groceries that are the best fit for their families, focusing on fresh produce and shelf–stable items.

We are proud to have distributed food to over 230 families in the community.

Him and his family were in the suite celebrating his older brother, AJ’s, 9th birthday alongside his cousins and friends!

From now until November, each ambassador will undertake an independent service project, attend an HLF-hosted event, complete at least 15 hours of community service, and give a short presentation to their peers on the mission of HLF.

Garden of Dream Foundation’s young people from the Department of Homeless Services were able to attend a Christmas Spectacular show at Radio City Music Hall; young people from Wounded Warrior Project were able to enjoy Rangers Garden of Dream night from a suite and ride the Zambonis; and a group of young people from Make-A-Wish Hudson Valley were able to enjoy Knicks Garden of Dreams night from a catered suite and meet John Starks thanks to HLF’s financial support.
