On Wednesday Caroline Ogno, an HLFYA, completed a 2-month project in support of St Marys Children’s Hospital in Queens NY.
St. Mary’s is NY’s oldest medical facility for children, the largest provider of long-term care for children with complex medical conditions in New York State, and a national leading provider of pediatric post-acute care. They have a singular goal: To enable St. Mary’s kids to live their best possible lives—and to be there for their families, every step of the way. Whether it is inpatient, day program or in-home, those in need never pay a dime.
Caroline worked closely with Victoria Falcone, the manager of strategic partnerships, to find out the most in-demand items for the hospital’s arts/crafts/sensory/therapy areas that are used by the kids and their families every day.
Working with her school, local civic associations and private donors, Caroline gathered and delivered over $2,000 of supplies that will help the children expand their horizons, express themselves, explore the arts and continue therapy in groundbreaking non-traditional ways.
This is a partnership that will last a long time past this project, as both Caroline and Victoria are discussing an ongoing relationship in both volunteerism and affiliation with Caroline’s future endeavors.
Thank you to St. Mary’s for letting us be a part of the tremendous work you do every day!
