Every year we come together with New York to remember all those who were lost on September 11, 2001. This year that remembrance carried more weight than ever. On Friday, September 11, 2026, twenty-five years after the attacks, Henrik Lundqvist once again represented the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation as a celebrity ambassador at the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund’s annual Charity Day in New York City.

Charity Day exists because of what Cantor Fitzgerald lost that morning: 658 employees, more than any other company, along with 61 colleagues at Euro Brokers. In the years since, Cantor Fitzgerald and BGC Group have turned the anniversary into a day of giving. Every September 11, both firms donate 100 percent of their global revenues to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund and to dozens of charities around the world, and celebrity ambassadors join the brokers on the trading floor to represent the causes those funds support.

Henrik began the morning at Cantor Fitzgerald’s headquarters, where he greeted staff, met with clients and picked up the phone to help close trades alongside the brokers, with every transaction adding to the day’s total. He then continued to BGC Group to meet more of the teams and supporters who make the day possible. The photos below capture some of those moments: the calls, the conversations and the energy of a trading floor that, for one day a year, is working entirely for others.

Between stops, Henrik sat down with Bloomberg’s Romaine Bostick to talk about what the day means to him and why remembering 9/11 still matters, especially to New Yorkers. You can watch the interview here: Former NYR Goalie Henrik Lundqvist on Remembering 9/11

Henrik has taken part in Charity Day many times over the years, and for HLF the reason is simple. Our mission is to create positive change in the lives of children and adults through health and education, and Charity Day puts that idea into practice on a scale few events can match. The funds raised support the Relief Fund’s year-round work with direct-service charities, and its emergency response when communities are hit by disasters and crises. Standing on that floor, surrounded by people who chose to answer the worst day in their company’s history with generosity, is a reminder of what a community can build out of loss.

HLF extends its sincere thanks to the Cantor Fitzgerald Relief Fund, Cantor Fitzgerald, BGC Group and every broker, employee, client and volunteer who made this year’s Charity Day possible. We are honored to be part of this tradition, and we look forward to standing with you again next year.
