On June 6th, the “POP” sounds of the pickleballs hitting racquets, laughter, and a little bit of trash talking filled The Bergen Pickleball Zone as a few of my closest family and friends came together for some friendly competition.

Everyone there participated in a round robin pickleball tournament to raise money for the Indian/Forest Acres Scholarship Foundation. People of all ages and skill levels hit the courts for an afternoon filled with competition which ended in a heated championship game. One big part of our camp culture is pickleball, so hosting a tournament just seemed fitting.

I choose to complete my Individual Service Project for the IA/FA Scholarship Foundation because I want to give someone the opportunity to experience a summer away in Maine and create amazing summer memories. The Indian & Forest Acres Scholarship Foundation provides scholarship funds for the purpose of sending children to Indian & Forest Acres Camps who will be enriched and become good citizens of “Our Summer Place”, but who also need additional financial resources to attend.

Overall, this fundraiser will have a big and lasting impact on the camp community. By raising $2,140 for the foundation I am helping to make a kid’s dreams come true.
