On Sunday, January 29th, the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation was delighted to welcome the 8th class of young ambassadors at an in-person orientation for the first time in 3 years. The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation continues to positively impact the lives of kids in the tri-state area by providing an outlet for them to make a difference in their communities and around the world. Each young ambassador was chosen for their excellence in service and dedication to the community.

The newest class of ambassadors was welcomed into the program with an informative orientation followed by networking with fellow ambassadors and a public speaking workshop hosted by Bespoke Education.

Orientation began with each young ambassador introducing themselves. Next, the ambassadors were welcomed by Young Ambassador Senior Program Director Meredith Wolff and HLF Executive Director Johanna Bialous. Co-founder Henrik Lundqvist congratulated and welcomed the ambassadors over video. The ambassadors then had the opportunity to ask questions as the guidelines and requirements of the program were explained. From now until November, each ambassador will undertake an independent service project, attend an HLF-hosted event, complete at least 15 hours of community service, and give a short presentation to their peers on the mission of HLF.

Additionally, HLF was proud to announce the creation of a brand-new phone app. The app will allow ambassadors to easily log community service hours, communicate with the Program Director, plan their independent service project, and sign up for HLF-hosted events.

Following the program overview, Bespoke Education hosted a public speaking workshop. The workshop featured engaging and fun activities that taught ambassadors the art of public speaking. The final event of orientation was a networking session where mentors, alumni of the young ambassador program, could speak to their mentees and other ambassadors and answer any questions they might have. Here, mentors could meet their mentees and offer advice and support.
