We are so happy to share that the new playground at Ronald McDonald House Huddinge in Sweden, supported by a $50,000 grant from the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation, is now complete!
Ronald McDonald House Huddinge provides a home away from home for families from across Sweden, and sometimes from neighboring countries, whose children are receiving care. The house welcomes approximately 800 families each year and has supported more than 28,000 families since opening in 1993.
For families staying at the house, life can be incredibly stressful. For children undergoing rehabilitation, movement and play are also an important part of their well-being. That makes the garden and playground valuable spaces where children can move, play, connect and simply be kids. The new playground was thoughtfully designed to be welcoming for children of all ages and abilities, including those with mobility challenges.

The playground is the latest project in HLF’s long-standing partnership with Ronald McDonald Hus Sverige. Over the years, HLF has supported all five Ronald McDonald Houses in Sweden, in Gothenburg, Huddinge, Lund, Linköping and Uppsala, helping create spaces where families can stay together while their children receive care.

We are so grateful to our community partner, Ronald McDonald Hus Sverige, for sharing these beautiful photos and for all they do to support families during some of the most challenging moments of their lives.
We hope you enjoy seeing this wonderful new space as much as we do!
