The Henrik Lundqvist Foundation is proud to announce that Lily Buerck has been named the 3rd annual S.A.V.E. Scholar of the Year with Cara Griffin and Ashley Sheil receiving the two runner-up prizes. This annual, need-based scholarship program exclusively for alumni of the HLF Young Ambassadors Program is awarded to individuals exhibiting exemplary dedication to Service and Academics, who possess strong Values and display overall character Excellence.

In late 2019, the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation, led by NY Rangers’ goaltender Henrik Lundqvist and his wife Therese, committed to launching its first scholarship program with an annual fund of $40,000. HLF is proud to be able to continue this Scholarship and support the education of our most promising Young Leaders with $20,000 being awarded to the Scholar of the year and $10,000 to each runner up.

Lily will be part of the University of Richmond Class of 2026 and plans to major in Global Studies/Arabic

$10,000 Runner Up – Cara Griffin
2020 HLFYA + 2 x Alumni Mentor
Cara will be part of the Clemson University Class of 2026 and plans to pursue a Communications degree.
$10,000 Runner Up – Ashley Sheil
2020 HLFYA + 2020 Virtual KidsJam Champion + 2 x Alumni Mentor
Ashley will be attending University of Minnesota this fall and plans to pursue a Sports Management major with a minor in journalism (with a focus on sports media).
