On Sunday, June 23rd Young Ambassador, Amelia Srebnik hosted a mother daughter luncheon in Bronxville, NY to help celebrate the inner and outer beauty in all of us. As a teenage girl she felt that it was important to continue to spread the message that we are all beautiful and what you may see someone posting about is not a reality.
The event titled, “Beauty is as Beauty Does”, took 6 months of dedicated hard work, but when it all came together and everyone had a good time there was a feeling of satisfaction like no other. The event which consisted of presentations by Aleksandra Wasowska, the Head of Education at Borghese, and Hannah Kuztin, a Registered Dietitian, and a raffle with the purse of prizes being donated by brands such as Barneys NY and Borghese, along with local shops and restaurants.
Overall Amelia was able to raise 5,236 dollars to be donated to the Garden of Dreams Foundation and Mainsprings JBFC, an all girls orphanage in Tanzania Amelia volunteered at last summer.
“Not only did I gain the pride in knowing I was helping so many children who may not be as fortunate as myself, I was able to spread an important message to not only the young girls living in my town, but also their mothers, that beauty is more than skin deep and how we act and engage with the world makes us all more beautifully kind”.
