Together For Better (TFB) is a foundation committed to raising money for FUCPE school in the Dominican Republic. TBF has been a partner with the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation for the past 10 years now, and is committed to bringing better health and learning conditions to FUCPE school students.
After attending our virtual service learning event in June, 9th generation Young Ambassador Claudia Hupp was committed to raising money for this amazing cause. Claudia decided the best way to benefit this foundation was by directly raising money that TFB could use towards necessities such as bathrooms and education about hygiene. She begun by organizing a raffle that was tied to the foundation but also applied to a variety of audiences. Claudia had the idea of raffling off tickets to a Rangers vs Islanders game to appeal to sports fans but also a fall basket that could be targeted towards any group in her community. She then developed a poster that she promoted through social media and hung around her local church to get as many people involved as possible.
For the duration of 3 weeks, Claudia advertised her raffle to friends and family in her community and online. A lot of people were willing to join the raffle or even just donate to help out Together For Better. After the three weeks, Claudia was able to raise over $500 through her raffle and donate the entirety of it to Together for Better.
Claudia hopes that her hard work and dedication to helping this great organization will benefit the health of the 310 children attending FUCPE school in the Domincan Republic. Every child deserves an education in a place where they can feel as safe and healthy and possible.
