Sabrina Truitt, a young ambassador for the Henrik Lundqvist Foundation and a Freshman at Shawnee High School, recently organized a rowing fundraiser to support STEM to Stern and their incredible efforts to inspire underprivileged children by teaching them science and STEM through the sport of rowing. Driven by her own passion for both rowing and STEM, Truitt, who has been rowing for just a year, chose a rowing-related fundraiser due to the profound impact the sport has had on her life in such a short time. STEM to Stern provides children from less privileged communities with the opportunity to experience the positive effects of rowing and discover its many benefits.

Named “Rowing For A Cause” the fundraiser took place at the Cooper County Boathouse in Pennsauken, NJ, the home base of Sabrina’s own club, Moorestown Rowing Club. On the day of the event, teams of four raced in relay races on rowing machines each competing over a distance of 1000 meters. Eight teams of four, totaling 32 athletes, competed for various prizes and to raise awareness for the STEM to Stern mission. The event was a smashing success, raising over $1,025 for STEM to Stern!

Sabrina is profoundly grateful to everyone who participated and donated to this incredible cause! Special thanks to Vive Aesthetic Cosmetics for contributing skincare prizes and to Moorestown Rowing Club for providing the ergs used in the relays. She deeply appreciates this opportunity to give back to the rowing community and to use her platform as a young ambassador to shine a light on STEM to Stern’s remarkable efforts.
