On November 13th, the 2022 class of HLF Young Ambassadors met at 2 Penn Plaza in New York City, hours before the New York Rangers were set to play the Arizona Coyotes in next-door Madison Square Garden, after ten months of collaboration and impact in their communities.
This year’s class of Ambassadors created presentations that included explanations of their ISPs and their impact, as well as how they earned service hours and where they did their HLF community presentation. The 2022 YA presented to the founders of HLF, Henrik and Therese Lundqvist, along with their two daughters.
Industry professionals from Madison Square Garden Company and the Garden of Dreams Foundation were also in attendance to provide insight to the Young Ambassadors as to what it is like to work in the sports industry, as well as how to best position yourself for a successful career in the profession.
Many shared at the event that when the HLFYAs and program Alumni meet, it feels like a reunion given that some have been with the organization for several years and they get to see old friends. Others expressed that the meeting was special because it was the first time that they had met many people in person. The 2022 YA class is the 7th group of dedicated young men and women to come through the HLF program.
Henrik Lundqvist took pictures with and signed autographs for those in attendance to wrap up a memorable event and put a bow on a year that HLF Young Ambassadors can all be proud of for what they have done in their communities. The foundation looks forward to welcoming a new class of Young Ambassadors next year!
