On Sunday, January 13th, HLF officially welcomed the 4th class of Young Ambassadors, a group of 15 exceptional young men and women who were selected from applicants that sought positions in the program this past fall.
Ranging in age from 12 to 18, the group gathered for the first time to learn more about the service requirements they will fulfill in the year ahead, meet their HLFYA Mentor (a former program participant is paired with every Young Ambassador to support and enhance their experience) and connect with one another in person. The group also hit the ground running giving back, completing their first service project of the year by collecting crayons in their communities to be donated to The Crayon Initiative.
HLF is thrilled to continue to grow the Young Ambassadors program, this year adding a partnership with Buncee, an online digital creation and communication tool which will bring new capabilities and learning opportunities to participants. Corporate partners including Allstate and JP Morgan Chase will also support the program with service learning events and Hockey Helps recently made a generous financial gift to support the program’s continued growth.
