On Saturday December 10th, 10 members of the HLFYA Alumni Network gathered at HLF Community Partner NY Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital to deliver toys collected for patients who will be in the hospital over the holidays, to learn from employees of the hospital about their careers and to make holiday cards to lift the spirits of patients.
In addition to making the toys available to patients this month and throughout the year, as has become an annual HLF tradition, Co-Founders Henrik and Therese Lundqvist will distribute toys to children at NYP on Christmas morning.
The HLFYA Alumni Network launched this fall as a way for program graduates from the past three years of YA classes to stay connected with HLF and to continue their service and learning. Along with hosting Toy Drives in their communities in November and December and delivering the toys to NYP, the Alumni who attended this event were able to learn from a NYP Pediatric Cardiologist, Nurses and Development staff about careers in their various fields.
