From November 7-10, 2014 HLF Co-Founder Therese Lundqvist led a group of volunteers, including other members of the NY Rangers “family”, on a trip to the Dominican Republic to support HLF community partner Together for Better.
In the weeks leading up to the trip, HLF collected over 25 boxes worth of school supplies, books, hygiene products and children’s clothing to distribute during their visit to the Together for Better Cumajon school and in Veron. HLF is proud to support children’s right to education and the wonderful work being done by Together for Better in the Dominican Republic.
HLF would like to extend thanks to everyone who supported this Together for Better project, including Young Ambassadors Michael and Stella O’Brien as well as the students and families of St. Joseph Hill Academy for their contributions to the school supply drive; Mark S. Wolff of the NYU College of Dentistry for the contribution of toothbrushes and toothpaste; Your Special Delivery Service, Inc. for packaging and shipping support; and Johanna Bialous, Kaylee McDonagh, Erica Uebel and Terra Findlay for their hard work volunteering on-site in the Dominican Republic.
